7500 is essentially a bottle movie. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays co-pilot Tobias Ellis is a Berlin to Paris flight that is taken over by Muslim terrorists.

While there is commotion outside. The main pilot is injured and one of the terrorists managed to get inside the cockpit bit is incapacitated.

The film has a startling beginning that is full of tension. It then hits a downward spiral. To me the film was both intellectually and emotionally empty.

Firstly the true life incident regarding United 93 casts a giant shadow. The terrorists in this movie are few in number that have knives shaped from glass.

The other passengers are passive, doing nothing while several are threatened and only spring into action when the script demands it.

When you see the two passengers that arrive late on the plane, you just knew they should had stayed in the terminal bar for one more drink. By the same token, with all the flight crew on the plane, it would be Tobias's girlfriend who would be threatened next by the terrorists.

As for Tobias. I know he is supposed to be young but I did wonder just how much anti terrorism training he was meant to have. I thought he really was going to invite other baddies into the cockpit. When you have Duck Tape, use it on the eyes and ears as well. Just use lots of it to keep one of your attackers down.

As for the terrorists. If you are going to go for the standard Muslim terrorist trope. Then at least give them a better motive than they just want to crash the plane and die. It even came as a shock to one of the terrorists who did not want to die.

High Jacking

Like really high ... as in in the air high. Jokes aside, the movie is more than serious and really tries to portray happenings as close to reality as they can get. The acting is great and while some things are heightened for effect, you can see things going down the way they did.

This is not easy to watch (it is not meant to be), but if you are into thrillers taken from real life and drama unfolding in front of your eyes, this is a movie to remember and watch of course. There might be decisions being made that you would not have taken, but don't forget we are talking about humans and everyone is wired differently. Also we are meant to feel strange and not entirely sure about some of the people involved. Humans are complex - even the evil ones

Amazing little psychological thriller

I did not expect such a powerful thriller here, in this film that at first sight looked like another common aboard a plane terrorist and hostages scheme. You may prefer NON STOP, I would not blame you, but this one, though being a small budget flick, is very interesting thanks to the character study, especially the young terrorist role, very ambivalent, who hesitates between helping the hero and proceeding the mission of his terrorists sidekicks. I like this, but I guess many viewers won't share my enthusiasm. That's after all a simple matter of taste and sensibility.
